Hi All,

My tank is constantly surpassing 80 degrees and I can’t pinpoint why. The heater is in the sump which has been off for 2 weeks straight. Lights off, protein skimmer in the pump. House is roughly 72 degrees. I purchased 3 hygger fans from Amazon and placed them around the sump in an attempt cool and it’s not working. If the temps are this high when my air conditioner is running I’m very concerned when winter comes and the heat is running. Any suggestions on what else I can do to try and cool it down? I’m getting very defeated with this.

How many pumps and powerhead do you have? my system adds about 7° to the tank I have to keep the room set at 71° to get a tank temperature of no more than 78° Each of my return pumps adds about a degree and a half and each powerhead about a degree (estimated) I have four of those. If you have a glass top, you might want to consider removing it and re place with eggcrate or mesh.

I have 1 pump and 1 wave maker that’s it. Well the protein skimmer also of course. I do have a glass top, I’ll take some
Measurements and fire up the 3D printer

I got a poafamx chiller on Amazon and so far I’m really happy with it! Came with everything you need (hose, pump, attachment pieces, etc) and did payment plan on it so it’s not so much up front 😊

For reference I also have a solid lid, 3rd floor apartment and not even running the heater right now. Aka, it’s too hot in here apparently even though it doesn’t feel like it. Also the heating is weird in this concrete building (in the ceiling???) so definitely glad I purchased for when winter comes
