VERY COOL idea on using the lamp housing! It looks great and keeps the beam narrowed for you! Awesome idea!

So things got a little out of hands, when I was away for 2 weeks.
My 3 fish died. Sad story!
Now the tank is resetting and I'm trying to make it better. First of was the flow. I now run 3 sw-2 pumps and I like how it turned out.
I hate(!) wires and cords, but I think I manged to hide most of them.

The reef as it looks today.
It's ben 4 months without fish and I think it's about time.
I have ben trying to improve on water quality and gotten my first RODI unit.... 5 years of reefing with tap-water was a mistake!
.... also..... I hate to say it...... haven't ben testing my water, but I have become hooked after I started 3 months back...

I made this spreadsheet.. I feel like a pro now :)
test.jpg

My stats are not perfect and I'm still using a high range Hanna for Po4, so I'm not sure it's accurate. But good things are happening.
I'm hoping SPS will find my tank more attractive now. Have 2 sticks in there to test it out.
Here are what my stats are at now :

Maintenance before holiday

_DSC1163.jpg _DSC1161.jpg _DSC1160.jpg
I don't do water changes, but I do this once a week - more or less.
I pick of algae then blow of all the detritus and then filter it out.

_DSC1164.jpg _DSC1166.jpg

Then I use a mix of zeo stones and carbon to in a small reactor.

_DSC1167.jpg _DSC1170.jpg

A sprinkle of food.

_DSC1173.jpg _DSC1172.jpg

Fresh Ro/Di with Kalkwasser for the ATO

_DSC1174.jpg _DSC1175.jpg _DSC1177.jpg

And here is a shot of my low (!) cost sump. .... what a mess.
I have filter floss and polyfilter on the top of the towers - under that is a lot of biomedia like marinepure and siporax ect.
I still have the hydor skimmer - dosen't do much other than making noise :)

Did some work under the tank. It's hard having such a small place to hide everything in.
Here are some before and after pictures:

Before:
20170717_131253.jpg 20170717_131301.jpg
Took all the crap out... also removed the ato containers on the right side when doing this.

After:
20170717_162718.jpg 20170717_162726.jpg 20170717_162735.jpg
It's still messy, but looks better imo. I also made a small rack for my tools - can't blive I haven't done that a long time ago!

Here are some random shots of the tank in the sun:)

We also went out and got a shrimp, 2 clown fish and Scleronephthya coral.... probably a bad idea ;s
Any suggestions on keeping the Scleronephthya is welcome!!
