Sometimes this works pretty good. Paste it on clam shells, rocks, swim level on the glass so it's easy for the fish to see and find.

Oh that's funny I never bothered to steam them at all. I just jam a knife I don't care about in and wedge it open, probably not the safest thing to do. Then either throw the whole thing in partially open or freeze then cut paper thin slices.
Yeah, you should see the scars on my hands from clams, crabs, etc.

I got mine from liveaquaria. I have had it for a year now. It was the small size from Indonesia. Definitely pick indo over Singapore as it is less likely to have been caught with drugs, although still no guarantee.

I qtd mine in a 20g and only treated it with prazipro. It immediately developed lymphocystis first few days in QT and I just made sure it ate well (live blackworms and lfs fish frenzy with selcon). kept it in there for about 6 weeks and the lympho cleared up about halfway through. It never showed any signs of ich or velvet or bacterial infection. However, as others have stated, they are very susceptible to bacterial infections so be prepared for that.

Good luck!

I agree with some of the posts above. I have purchased copper bands and other butterflies from Divers den and Blue zoo (pretty much favorite sites) but each one didn't survive because I couldn't get them to eat. In my opinion, this is a fish you need to see healthy at a LFS you trust where you can watch how well it eats. I finally was able to get one my LFS had for about 4 weeks and he was a great eater. When I got him home, he was shy at first but would pick at myssis shrimp from my hand. Now he still only eats from my hand but he eats clams and myssis and bloodworms. I have had him for close to a yr now. (fingers crossed)

Yep, grocery store. Freeze them then cut thin slices of it and the CBB should suck them right down.

surprised you got it from DD and it didn't eat. They make sure they are eating for weeks before they sell them.

You mentioned NFG powder. I have every medicine but that. Can I use Furan, metroplex, general cure instead?

I've had 3 from DD that never ate. I tried every food imaginable. Even corals. All 3 perished.

Furan2 is one of the ingredients in NFG. But it's not the same as using NFG. If you like tangs, angels, and other similar fish, consider sourcing some.

Beautiful fish. Best of luck with it. Post a picture when you can :)
Also, he likes the clams but has a hard time eating large pieces. Do you cut them very small?

He eats so much. I'm so happy. Should I feed it 2 times a day?
I fed mine at least twice a day, sometime more like 4 times. But I work from home so it's easy to feed like that.

I froze my clams and cut paper thin slices so the CBB could suck them right down.
