My copperband has some weird mark on his back fin my thoughts are that that is probably a wound that is in the end stages of healing

I would like to know if my guess is right or is it some sort of infection I need to treat

Looks like lymphocystis which they are susceptible to and is viral often triggered by Poor water quality ( cab be tank of LFS or elevated levels in QT and poor diet.
These fish while they will eat nori is not a seaweed dependent fish opposed to tanks but needs meats for fat and aminos
Masstiks is a good food to get them started. other foods are:
LRS Herbivore diet
formula 2 frozen
Rods original formla
Plankton
Mysis shrimp
Spirulina brine shrimp

Assure your nitrate and ammonia have Not become elevated

When did it show up?

Bacterial issue or start of Uronema come to mind for marks like this.

I'm currently giving him mysis shrimp and he has been eating

But it is not the lymphocyte in the pectoral fins is the anal fin that is the concern

I missed that. It may have been an injury that stemmed from fish being netted but appears to be on path of healing. I cant see area clearly but if it is red or swollen, treat with seachem Neoplex although Kanaplex would also work as would Ruby Rally Pro. Neoplex is my choice if fish were mine

While it could be an injury (and so Neoplex should help) it is more likely that this is Uronema. The fish species, the look of the lesion and the timing all point to that. I hope I'm wrong, as there is no effective treatment for inter cellular Uronema.

I think the neoplex is a good idea - But agree it looked more like Uronema to me. since it's on both sides. If it is an infection, it is likely severe (bacterial). With uronema - my impression (others can correct if wrong) - tends to cause these patches with sudden decline - i.e. I would think the fish would be much sicker if this were a wound infection
