Coral Behavior when Splitting

Hi folks,

I have one frogspawn coral which I'm noticing what appears to be splitting, but I'm not entirely sure - I do notice that the flesh is puffy and no polyp extension on one of the side. I'm not sure if this is indicative or symptomatic that this is a result of splitting, or is this coral in trouble?

Euphylia polyps gradually split over time. First there's one mouth then there's two mouths (sometimes three) and so one. If it's doing well there will also be small polyps forming on the skeleton below the polyps as mothe polyps grow more skeleton. If it's partially deflated on one side it may just be moody or it may have a problem. Best thing you can do is just be patient. Trying to "treat It" if it's just having an off day just adds additional stress to it and may promote an actual problem.

Photo in white light would help. Is is splitting? IMO no. They simply grow larger and the skeleton starts to pinch together in the middle as a new mouth forms on one side and they slowly grow apart from each other.
