I’d like to see if anyone has done this with Stylocoeniella. Op, you’re talking about an actual squirrel skull? How was it cleaned?

I used to have a turtle statue where I grew a green Zoa on the shell and then I had to remove the Zoa and grow a GSP. It was a very nice one.

I have a bottle that is opened from up and down with a treasure map glued inside it. It was sitting on the decorative shelf in the LFS for freshwater tanks but I purchased it for the fish to hide. Then i glued a tiny piece of a meteorshower Cyphastrea coral and it started to look nice.

That was me. It was cleaned by leaving it under an overturned clay flowerpot until bugs ate all the flesh off. It was later dipped in a two-part acrylic to seal it, which was probably overkill- bones cleaned by most methods should be at least as inert as limestone, if not more. Boiling won't do it, the fat seeps into the bones and leaches out later- bad for any bone use. But letting it naturally decay down should produce clean enough bones. I had most of that skeleton in a freshwater tank for awhile with no problems. The only reason I'm not putting it in this tank is... mostly just that I can't find where I put it.

I just cut the stem off a little bottle of Crystal Head vodka. I plan to grow something on it. I think Dan Aykroyd would be proud.

I am new to reefing and found a cool live rock to top of my rock pile. My plan is to try an encrusting coral on it. Any suggestions?

I can think of a source for many different bases:

Bump. Does anyone else have any item suggestions for encrusting corals? I did the skull one, and I love how it turned out. I would like to try some new ideas
