Coral eating amphipods. What fish?

I wish I had it on video, I swear to you my large Male Mandarin eats the large size amphipods. I have seen it.... Have you ever seen a Mandarin "Yawn"? You would be surprised how big they can open their little mouths. My male when in my display, would suck down whole large pieces of PE mysis in an instant without a problem. Just sayin

I have a ton of pods in my tank. I have a very fat 6 line because of this. it has literally doubled in size since I got it in november. I also have a yellow tail dwarf angel who follows the wrasse around and picks off what it leaves behind. and neither will eat some of the monsters I have in my tank.

Without a sand-bed those fish are as good as dead.

did you know before hand that the fish required a sand bed when you got him or was that more of an after thought, or maybe a tank transfer? not trying to insinuate anything i just know when i was still pretty new to it (not saying your new) i got a few fish i probably shouldnt have, while i did my research on most i know i overlooked/missed some of the requirements for some such as specialized foods etc.

I just wanted to update quick. I got a six line and it has been destroying my amphipods. I've never seen a fish with such a bulging belly. The amphipods are still living and reproducing but at least they will get it if they try anything funny with my corals during the day!!! I'm thinking of adding a few more. Maybe two in each raceway :)
