I have a couple of montipora and cyphastrea's that have some space between the plugs they are on and the rock work. Will that pose a problem for these to continue growing out on the rocks?

I don't know if they would keep growing underneath the plug once to the bottom edge of the plug and then down to the rocks or maybe just bridge the gap between the plug and rocks. Or maybe they won't spread any further than the bottom edge of the plug if there isn't direct contact with rock in places.

Thanks for any input. I feel like this is a silly question but I'm asking anyways.

shouldn't be a problem, edges touching rock best, but will bridge out also

Thanks for the reply. I thought about taking some epoxy and filling in the gaps to help it along some.
