Thought it was a stylophora but it's definitely encrusting the plug.
And I've read stylophora doesn't do that...maybe.
Fix my ignorance please.

Stylophoras definitely do encrust plugs. Looks like a stylo to me.

Pocillopora; Stylophora have larger branches with less "messy" polyps and hoods on their corallites like this:
