I’m really not sure, I’ve never seen one grown out. I’d say it’s worth a try

It's a hardy coral. Higher light, mod flow and a wide berth. It will kill near by corals. There are two types, branching and plating. Hydnophora are fast growers.

Fast growing and killing make this seem pretty questionable. The color is cool. I accidentally wound up with a Favia I thought was acan. Do you know if this could be next to it? Now that I know the name ima look into it more

Nope. They are great corals but it can not be next to other corals. At night the Hydnophora will send out stinging mesenterial filaments that basically begin to digest other corals.
