Hello everyone, I got this coral last year at MACNA and was told it was a brain coral. It expands heavily during the day and shrinks at night just wandering exactly was kind of coral it is. I have a picture of it at night and during the day.

Looks like you have a Trachyphyllia of some sort.. as to the specific "hobby" name of it I'm not sure but im certain it is a Trachyphyllia brain coral :) very nice specimen as well!!!
 
Oh ok thank you I was just confused because all brain corals I've had in the past have been hard to the touch where this one is soft.
 
Looks like a trachyphyllia. Favia, goniastrea, platygyra are considered bain corals as well which are hard.

Ok sounds like I've just never had a trachyphyllia thank you! I love this coral just didn't know exactly what it was.
