As the title says, I am looking for some ideas as to what corals I should put on this side of my fluval 13.5 (the side facing me most of the time). This area is the brighter area of my tank and is probably the area with the highest flow as well. I am looking for some contrasting colors to put here. Ps - sorry for the photo, I was looking for a photo of the bare rock scape as I am looking to remove the corals there right now as I want more vibrant colored corals for the area that can also put up with some higher flow.

It depends what you like
Growth is something to look at
Do you want it to branch or plate out
Encrust a rock or grow on substrate
Be soft and flowy or jiggly and long

So many things and tbh they all can come in crazy colors specially if you wanna pay for it.

So find a style you think is cool
Stiff like a acorpora scape or whimsical like a softie scape and all in between

There are literally hundreds of types of coral. What are you looking for? If you're just looking for an idea, I like my Duncan a lot - colorful, hardy, and provides a lot of movement. Also a fast grower.

I would like it to branch and plate out like sps. I have an encrusting monti and it is growing, but I am really scared to take on something like acropora. What would you recomend for me in the sps category that like looks good but isn’t as finicky as acros??

Stylophora or montipora setosa might be a good choice if you can keep your parameters in check along with the encrusting monti happy.

Yeah, my parameters have been good lately. Around a month ago I had a dino bloom and I accidentally spilled more dr Tim’s waste away into the tank than I meant to, but I didn’t think anything of it. I had just bought an acro frag that was doing good, but the next day my tank water was really cloudy and my acro frag had rtn. Long story short my acro died while my monti actually seemed to have not cared. I’m deathly afraid of buying acros again, but I agree that a stylo or a montipora setosa could be a good choice. Do you know of any others that are on the easier side of sps but still look cool?

Birdsnest corals, montipora digitata, and pocillopora are also easier and branch out.

Montis i fond digitatas easy
Birdsnest and Pocillopora
Stylophora
Tbh mate acros and montis are the hardest
Some lps are hard to so its sll about reserch
I can tell you these are easy but it kight not be for you
Some struggle with zoas and there a weed to me depends on the system
Most time when sps is referred to as difficult its acros they worry about.

Pick a species learn it move to the next and so on. Youll find some cool things on tidal gradens and reef builder
