Looks to me like a rhodactis mushroom. They can go fine in a zoa/nem tank. They can at times spread fairly fast. The nem would be a problem for it if it parked right on top but otherwise it's generally easy to keep

I appreciate everyone's input. Any idea what type of Ricordea? Would it be rude to email the seller and ask what type it is, being that it was sent as a freebee

Not rude at all! Tell them you love it and want to know all you can to take great care of it :)
