Coralline algae turning white

Has anyone seen coralline algae do this before?

Following. The coralline on one of my snails is almost completely white now.

Thats your answer I believe. Coralline foes not do well if the light is too strong.

Mine did this. Dunno why.
Everyone told me it was because my cuc were eating it but that was def not the reason.

I wondered if my lights were too strong but never got a par meter to check.

You gotta think of coralline like coral it thrives in stability. It most likely got bleached out

Thanks for the info. Adjusted the radion to 60% will see if i get some color back .

I concur, When my light accidently got bumped up to 100% blues & whites, I had a big coraline algae die off. Ever since then, those spots haven't recovered. However, I have a lot more now. ;Facepalm;Hilarious

Hopefully you will. I just put some snails in my tank last week and had the same thing with the coraline. Went white over the course of a day or so and is now slowly all colouring back up. I think it was because they came from an invert tank with lower lighting so probably got shocked when it went in my tank.

Has anybody seen sheets of coralline fall off the back wall of the tank (without turning white)?
Coralline on rocks looks fine.

I know it’s an old thread, but out of curiosity….did you have an urchin at the time?

Was going to suggest maybe being eaten by an Urchin - when i had an urchin it would leave the rock looking like that.
