Has anyone ever seen something nipping at coralline algae? I've got little white nips at it all over my rocks. The back of the tank is covered and don't have those white dots in the algae. I do not have any urchins.

I think coraline eating asterina. I have them in my tank.

either that or tangs if you have any will also sometimes pick on it trying to find regular algae.

Don’t be surprised if you have a small urchin hitchhiker in there. I had s couple and they only come out at night. They hide in s crevice or hole during the day.

looks like the work of asterina stars to me. I have some in my 10g that will eat coralline algae. one or two is fine but they can overpopulate if not paid attention too..

I have exactly the same thing going on in my tank, always wondered what was causing this.
