Hi everyone,

My tank is 2months old, does the "purple" speck stuff on my rocks look like Coralline Algea? I run my lights for 8hrs per day. The first to arrive was the bright green algea, its not slimy or brown so I don't know if i'm in the "ugly" phase or not. I've had crabs and snails in the tank since week 2. If it is Coralline how long before it out competes the green algea and is there anything I need to do to help it spread faster? I didn't add anything to promote the growth other than a few snails that had the algea on their shells and few coral plugs with coralline in the sides of it.

Tank size 13.5gallon
Tank age: 8weeks
Free Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 10
Salinity is 1.026
PH 8.1
Temp 79
Alkalinity 9.5
Calcium 470
Magnesium 1600

Thanks all,

Do all think i'm in my "ugly" phase now or is this a stage still to come?
