Been many years since I've had an aquarium setup. Recently decided to get back into the hobby. Was planning a 75 in my office downstairs. But now reconsidering something bigger. My girlfriend has never had any saltwater experience but decided she wanted a small tank upstairs. She found this biocube and stand and each were $100 off so she bought it and told me she wants some clownfish.

Bought a 10lb nano box of rock from BRS, a heater, some salt, sand, new rodi setup, etc....

She did the aquascaping herself, had it all glued up, put in the tank, added sand and looks great imo. (She's a natural)

We used the Dr. Tims live bacteria stuff and did the 9 day cycle process. FIrst time trying this, figured I'd rather try on her tank nano tank and see how it goes.

Parameters were looking good so she picked out her first fishes last night. Was so nice to have some fish to watch while I was having my coffee this morning. And I've taken several trips upstairs from my office to go watch them.

She wants a yellow watchman goby and a coral banded shrimp. (And some hermit crabs and a few snails) not sure that these stock lights are going to cut it for corals, but might give it a whirl down the road.

The heater is in the display unit, but will be moving to the back once I'm happy that it's set good and keeping stable temp. Such a tiny space back there that I don't want to keep getting it out to fiddle with the temp. Monitoring it with the temp probe on a apex jr for a bit here to make sure it's all stable. Also that temp probe floating in there is just temporary too. Don't mind that.

Girlfriend's biocube is almost 3 months old. Finally got the hair algae under control. Less feeding, more water changes. About to start gluing some more corals onto the rocks, wanted to wait till hair algae was gone before committing. Updated pictures.
