Hi not sure what the issue is with the water or the corals but since last week most of my coral are closed up .

Closed up - Duncan coral, stylophora’s, candy cane, hammers, frogspawn, torches, mushrooms

Open as normal - Kenya trees toadstool GSP all zoas, pulsing Xenia

Only started checking my paramteters properly few weeks ago here they are as follows

08/11/20

PH - 8.0
Ammonia - 0.00
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate 20

- dKH - 9.0
- Mg - 1360
- Ca - 420

Salinity 1.025
Temp: 25.5

22nd

PH - 8.0
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 0

Mg - 1400
Ca - 450
Kh - 8.4

Salinity - 1.025
Temp: 25.8

I did a water change last week and yesterday 10% each time.

Only thing I’ve done different is use coral reef nutrition A+B
Only used it twice last week.

Otherwise everything else has been the same. The tank is fallow currently only has a shrimp and a few CUC.

Any ideas?

stabilize your alk, i see it went down .6. Are you dosing?
No literally just got the test kits 2 weeks ago so wanted to monitor it to see how much the tank is using however both tests were done after the water change. So need another week to see how much is taken up every week?

Just to mention I literally started using the coral nutrition Red Sea AB+ 1 week ago ... and the problems have started since - I used some yday and one frag has started stripping how likely is it that that’s the cause

I think a higher PH won't hurt. Look for some kind of PH buffer and ghost feed in your tank to get some nutrients in there. If you can get some kind of small fish I think it would really benefit the tank tbh

Trying to run the tank fallow for 12weeks to eliminate ich. What range for Ph should I be looking for?

ah, gotcha. I think 8.3-8.4 would be ideal for the tank but you do need to have some nitrates there too. I've been using red sea A & B and now am using AB+. Never had any issues but make sure you're not over doing it

Just to get straight how large is your tank and when and how much do you dose? Of the AB+
