Corals dying

All of a sudden in both tanks our montiporas and some other hard corals like our tourches started dying? Any ideas on what we should do ? Been doing tests, when low on something we had according to what it says to dose with. Most of the time tests are good. Do regular water changes.

You should post the exact parameters and some specs on your system and maybe even some pictures. It will hep troubleshoot.

How old is your tank?

One tank is 2 in a half and the big one was a year in March. Never had this problem before

Since both tanks have the same problem at the same time...maybe toxins from cleaning agents. Have you sprayed or cleaned the room lately. Housekeeper?

No one can do anything more than guess unless you post your parameters, pictures and any changes that have taken place recently.

No changes, posted pictures. Doing tests after water change but we did the nitrate and the big tank is at 8 so making saltwater to do a change. First time ever has it been high. Small tank at 0

First off beautiful tanks! Nitrate at 0 can cause coral bleaching and death. There also may be some crowding issues going on as the corals grow. Check at night for sweeper tentacles. If you could get close ups of your corals of concern that may help. Looks like your one tang may be developing HLLE which could point to a water issue.

Only have one with tentacles and that is on the floor of the tank and the one tank is 2 1/2 years old and nitrates have always been zero and both tangs are free of any spots. Very heathy it's the lighting. Hopefully when I do the tests it will tell me more. But the tests usually are pretty close to perfect. Brought our water in for testing to see if we were doing it correct and always comes out the same

That depends on the coral types the sps like lower values near 0 but not at true 0 if that makes sense. Soft corals love higher nitrate. For my mixed reef I like to be around 5. It's a compromise.
