Also get a high quality frozen feed do a good search. Not mysis shrimp but a coral mix like rods food
Get refrigerated or frozen not room temp feeds imo
Occasionally feed them by squirting right across them in small amnts then do a small water change shortly after. This is the early breathing for the tank that will begin export and import and the key is hands on water changes when a tank is new, not hands off in fear of destabilization. Opposite of the old technique.
The more you feed and water change in a nano the more work you'll do, to the benefit of your new corals. In time as balance is predictable you can back off. The solution to nearly any water table problem in the nano reef is being able to do up to a 100% water change with no harm, its not chasing params with dosers. again this is against the grain but nonetheless its what the longest running nano reefs in the world do. Work the tank by in out feed water change as a lifestyle and corals will take on this energy by adding mass.
My advice is be busier in the beginning, if you see algae, kill or remove it don't ever leave something in the tank that can ruin the tank. Even if API tests say water is fine, still be feeding in spots and water changing weekly ideally. Sure there are other ways my offer isn't anything other than what I recommend as the owner of an old pico reef and my advice on how to make a tank live a long time.
Right now your reef sat taking on bacterial mass. Now that we begin to add higher life forms you will see a hidden trick to having early control over reef problems by making anything added adapt to being in a world where the water drains in large portions regularly, they rise to the occasion.
