Corner over flow and powerheads problem

anyone ever had a problem with there powerheads pushing to much water down their corner overflows? I have a herbie drain and everytime I get the gate valve adjusted perfectly where I want it and turn on the vortech it either pushes to much water through the overflow or pushes to much away. Any ideas?

Not sure I understand what your actual problem is. Is it causing noise issues? Stalling the drain somehow?

When I set my herbie drain to where it needs to be to have the trickle and then turn the vortech on my water level in the overflow box will go up and down when the vortech goes up and down
