Was wondering if anyone has done anything with bottom of overflows? I don’t mind cleaning but, with pipes in there make it a little difficult.
Thinking there might be a better solution.
I was thinking of either putting in cheap power heads or maybe Maurine pure spheres for biological. What would be your opinions?

The spheres is an intersting idea... will help fill up the empty space, bump up bacteria population and with the low flow.

I believe @Lasse uses a plugged up corner overflow for a deep sand bed to promote a nitrification export method.

I've been using a tube feeder to blow / stir up debris every so often, though only thing I really see in there is a larger bits of crab shells.
