Correct NO3 + PO4 Dosing Ratio To Avoid Reducing Either to 0.0?

Thanks for the cautionary note - may pick up an API test kit and take a look. Any idea why these test kits weren't picking up the nitrate in your system?
If I had to guess it’s because they spend more money on advertising than quality control or reagent quality. I use Lamotte now for nitrate testing and it seems good. The API is fairly solid and cheap. You just won’t be able to tell the difference between 1 and 3 ppm. But will likely not be 200 ppm off like some of the other ones I’ve had.

I like the idea of Lamotte considerably more than API - I imagine QC is much better than API. Will take a look at these, and thanks for your note.
