Hey guys,

I've recently spotted a small faint white spot on my clown, it's been there a couple of days and no further developments so far.

With your experience, would you regard this to be ich, or potential salt/ sand flake stuck on him?

When would you start treating it and what is the best medication?

He has no signs of rubbing against things or anything like that so far.

Could be a few things: grain of sand, Lymphocystis, flukes, early stage Ich.

A freshwater dip will confirm or eliminate flukes as the problem and if its Ich can remove a few of the parasites and give you time to get ready to treat.
If the spot is raised a bit and cottony, fibrous, or cauliflower like in texture, its probably Lymphocystis.

Thanks for the info as always! You guys are always so quick to help!

I've been garlic extreming the tank just in case, and the flake of white spot is now gone!
