Court Jester Goby

In the market for one more fish for my 30 gallon. I've always liked Court Jester Gobies. Are they more difficult than the average goby? My LFS guy said he can order me one, just weighing out options. I do have a tailspot blenny that's finally coming out of it's shell and I know they look similar. Do you think it would be an issue?

Tailspot Blenny
Watchman goby
Firefish goby (I think) as I'm hopeful he's still in his bolthole but rarely see him.
Pair of cleaner shrimp
Hermits and trochus snails for cuc

I had a Court Jester Goby a while back, I loved that fish! I think it would fit well with your other tank mates.

Typically, the wild caught ones can be finicky eaters requiring mature live rock with lots of copepods and algae they can graze on all day.

I highly recommend getting a captive raised CJG from Biota. That's what I got, and my fish ate absolutely everything, including flaked food. I won't hesitate to get another one when I finally get my next tank up and running.

Thank you. Was yours a hider? My tailspot blenny is finally swimming around after a week and I'm in love with it. If a court jester is anything similar, I'm going to take a shot and get one, and will ask if I can get a captive raised.

I also had a tailspot, and the Court Jester was more active and less shy than the tailspot for sure. I don't know if that had something to do with him being taken raised, but I'd bet it does. Another peaceful but active fish may help the tailspot to feel secure and come out more.

Right now the only 2 fish I have are a tailspot and a court jester. I think I will always have them, even when with other fish they would hang together quite a bit.
