Crab died while molting

One of my emerald crabs died while molting. He looked like 2 crabs on top of each other but must have got stuck?

Just curious how common this is?

I have never seen it happen, but I guess I don't pay that much attention to my crabs as they tend to disappear into the rock work.

this is often how most crustaceans die in the ocean as well. That and predation. So I wouldn’t feel too bad.
