Crested Gecko Owners

Hey Reef2Reef, I need some questions answered about the Crested Gecko.
I would like to know your care, tank size, diet, and housing multiple Crested Geckos in one tank.

You can do more than one but it’s best to wait until they are adults or buy sexed adults so they don’t fight.
One male per tank.
Feed fruit and insects
Females lay eggs from December-August, two per month.

Seems pretty cool to me!

Hey Nats, Well I have had a bunch of these guys. You will not want to house these together... Males will not get along with other males. I have gotten lucky and housed 2 females together though in a very large terrarium.

You will want to have a glass one as they like high humidity. Also note that you will want good food for Crested Geckos, I fee this: https://www.pangeareptile.com/store/crested-gecko-diet.html

They are a lot of fun, and handle pretty well, they are jumpers tough so expect them to jump. Also note that they will lose their tail if you aren't careful so dont grab them by it by for any reason. Once its gone, its gone. They are fine losing their tales as I have both tailless and tailed cresties. One last thing to note is they drink tehir water from leaves so you must spray their cages as they will drink from the leaves like Chameleons. So be sure you have time to care for these little guys!

Don't mix males and females, the male will constantly harass the females. They are relentless.... In the wild females hang out in one bush/tree and the males roam for them. Once they are found and mate, the female can get away, but in a cage that isnt the case. I have breed these guys as that is also a lot of fun but know that you will only want males on there own... And only in some cases will females get along.

Hey @Dierks, I was planning on feeding a powder food, thanks for the recommendation.

@Nats-Reefer no problem, you simply take the powder, mix ina little water and you are all set. I have 3 of them now, and they eat the food recommended readily. They didnt like the powder with insect and i didnt eater as they produced a ton of fruit flys so avoid that "Flavor"/style.
