Had a pretty decent diatom breakout that is still ongoing but this is after daily sand stirring . However the glass is clean 72hrs out so improvement. Seeing awesome LPS growth , zoas are happy , and SPS is alive lol F2BB2734-95F4-4673-BDDB-94356C08BB16.jpeg

Your tank is looking good, nice job. I seen you and a few people mentioning sumps overflowing, the way to prevent that is just install a check valve (water can only flow one way through it) on your return line. If power goes out or pump ever stops for any reason valve closes and cant siphon the water from your tank back to your sump.

thanks , I had a bad leaking problem on the last sump I attempted and couldn’t find any true plumbing help so I just skipped the sump altogether and did an Fx6 canister filter that runs my polishing pad and carbon

Hey there isn't nothing wrong with a canister filter they get the job done as long as you keep up on the cleaning of them. But for future reference that will take care of part of your sump leak problem if you do ever decide to go back down that path.

I would love a sump with a huge refugium section so this is great advice thank you!
