Ok guys, I'm kind of new to this so I need some help here. I purchased my first tank from a friend and it was allready set up(except for the coral) so I need a little guidance here. This will be a long process because I am moving at the end of december and waiting till then to set everything up. here are my plans.

just ordered a 120 oceanic tech starphire with stand.

as for the lights: outer orbit 48" MH/T5 250w
my friend that owns an LFS said that outer orbit is coming out with an LED light that is supposed to be half the price of the other brands so I may wait for that. Not sure.

powerheads:
the ecotech marine vorteck powerheads with wave controller and battery backup.

chiller:
coralife 1/6 hp aqua chill. Not sure if this will be big enough

skimmer:
AEtech reef devil delux

mag pump:
not sure. I need some help here. What size? what brand?

Is there anything that I am missing? please give any comments that would help me or tell me if Iam doing something wrong. Thanks

SOunds really good to me......Those vortecs will be sweet I think with the timer.....If you could get those LED lights that would be BAD butt.......Not sure on a sump pump as I have no experiance with sumps and plumming, but all in all your plans sound pretty good.....Can't wait to see it set up....

ok, I was going to get the oceanic teck 120 but I called and the LFS said he got an oceanic ultimate 150 that was custom made with starphire glass and beveled edges so I am picking that one up because the customer canceled the order. The tank needs to be drilled so now here is the question. Should I just run pipe out of the bottom or should I get an overflow installed???????

Man that is an even sweeter tank.......I think you will really love that, I would get the overflow personally but I am not up on my plumming and sumps. I think the over flow wil give you more control over the water movement between the tank and the sump/fuge.

Wow awesome!

If I were you I would drill the back center and add on an outside overflow that way you have all the tank space open.

Do an overflow, you won't regret it...

A good LFS should be able to get their acrylic company to make one for you, in whatever color/dimensions you want.

ok, My girlfriendd decided against the 150 because it would be too much trouble getting it drilled and an overflow installed, so I got the 120

here is the sump. It was hard to decide between a sump and a fuge. I will take out bioballs and put live rock.
