Custom 1.75 Gallon Shallow Pico

Update! One of my Acan Lord frags has fully recovered. I’m so glad to see a positive outcome for my corals.

Soooo… I'm tempted to move (or can I call it an upgrade?) my current setup into a 5-gallon AIO tank. The problem is, I want my scape to be a floating scape, which I've been adoring recently. Has anyone tried this? I'd love some advice!

*Notes: If a floating scape requires the “dry start method,” I might just give up. But the “upgrade” to an AIO tank is necessary since I don’t have the energy to clean my HOB every month lol (I'll be going with the same dimensions, just adding 10cm for the filtration chamber).

I have seen the floating scapes they are intriguing for sure.
You can use live rock for the scape. It can be glued together or pinned with acrylic rods.
It's doable if you really want the floating scape.

After visualizing the process of gluing or using rods, I think I’ve found a safer way. A custom-bent acrylic bracket with nylon bolts should work since my setup only consists of two pieces of live rock. I’ll shape the bracket to match the rock’s structure and add holes to ensure good water flow, preventing detritus from getting trapped.

Regarding the flow, I plan to use dual return outlets on each side since it's hard to find a wavemaker that's the right size. Plus, I really want to achieve a clean look, and I feel a wavemaker would stand out too much against the white background. Has anyone tried a similar setup? Or do you think I should just stick with a traditional single return? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Don't think you will need a powerhead, 2 returns would work well.
It will be interesting to see your setup when done. Keep us posted.
