Hi everyone. I recently finished a custom corner aquarium build. Took around 7 months to complete. This is my third tank that I have up & running. IIt' around 100 gallons. The other two are a 180G mixed reef & a 10G LPS tank. The 180G is going on 11 years old & the 10G it's about 8 years old. While setting this one up, I took pictures along the way & thought I'd share them.

Aquascaping a corner tank is a bit of a challenge because of the various viewing angles. I made a cardboard mock-up of the tank and started arranging the rocks, then rearranging and more rearranging. I wanted a minimal footprint on the sandbed too. Once I got it how I wanted it, I drilled and used acrylic rods & putty. Then all the rocks sat in the Brute trash can for about 7 months while the aquarium was built and while I built the canopy & stand. I'd do a water change every other week with the old water from my water changes from the 180g & 10g.

Please let me know what you guys think. It's only been running for about two months at this point.

Aquascape: Pukani, Fiji & Reef Saver. Maybe 45 lbs. , not sure.

Livestock:

Fish: 3 Pajama Cardinals, 2 black/white clowns, & blue Chromis. All donated from a friend who was shutting down his tank.

Inverts: 6 Mexican Turbo snails, 1 huge hermit in a racquet ball sized shell. His name is "Tank" because he plows through everything. Had him for about 6 years. He was a little guy when I got him. I figured he could eat the hair algae & such until it dies off. I'll put him back in the 180g after that.

Micro Inverts: I toss in Amphipods, bristle worms & mini brittle stars whenever I collect them from the filters from the other aquariums. I used a few small pieces of live rock from my other tanks too and got copepods on the glass within the first month.

I added a couple "test corals"... softies, SPS & LPS to see how things are going. So far, so good.

I plan to get a Zebra Moray eel in a couple months and I'll probably do mostly LPS & softies in this tank.

Impressive. That stand and hood are gorgeous.

Thank you. I'm not a carpenter & don't have proper wood working tools either, but I'm happy with it. I wanted a clean "modern" look. I don't care for really ornate stands & canopies. Plus it costs a lot to have them built professionally.
