Does anyone know if there is a place that sells custom sized filter socks? I bought a used Eshopps sump and the hole size for the filter socks is 9-1/4 inches diameter.

Is this inside or overall diameter of sock? Or did you measure sump diameter? This seems to be an odd size. Do you know the model of the sump?

There are 2 holes for socks and they measure 9-1/4 across. It's an Eshopps sump
The sumps require different size socks. If you have model we can verify. Just for example. These list filter sock sizes for the eshopps sump with 2 sock holders as you state. None at 9.25.

If you don't know model, take picture and we can help identify. Hopefully we can find you one soon.

That is the measured size. I can find a model number on it. I do see an Eshopps badge though

The easier thing to do would be to 3d print adaptor rings 7” socks
That may be the way to go but I've had less than awesome experiences with 3D printed material in saltwater. Don't last particularly long.

That looks to be an Eshopps Royale sump, uses 9.5" filter socks. I doubt they make them anymore as everywhere seems to be out of stock. I'd recommend having an adapter made out of acrylic, shouldnt be too expensive.

That tracks with how my luck goes. I will have to look into having an adapter made or something of the sort. Maybe a basket instead of socks.

I fired an email off to Eshopps directly to see what they have to say. Maybe I get lucky.

Are you using ABS?

PETG will get brittle rather quickly.

Make baskets, buy a bag of poly fill for 8 bucks at Walmart or any craft store.

I just put polyfill in between my sump baffle, been doing this for 15 years.

PETG is the culprit. I didn't know ABS was aquarium safe.

I'm thinking basket and socks. Socks for cleaning and basket for media and floss.

I misspoke, Abs and PETG are what people print with for in the water. PLA will get brittle and PETG lesser (years in my experience). I print with ABS and have no trouble. But I would use PETG too.

I use abs because my machine will print it faster (around 300mms to 70mms for petg)

If you didnt want to deal with 3d printing you can always have a new mounting plate cut out of acrylic and glue it ontop for 2 7” filter socks. But I think a good 3d printed adaptor ring would work well!

you can probably ask someone in the 3d printer section to CAD draw one up for you and treat that person to a starbucks coffee.

They are really friendly over there.
