Custom stand dimensions

I am having a custom stand built and I had a thought about making the stand 6 inches longer than the tank to accomodate an electronics cabinet without losing real estate under the tank. 6 foot tank with a 44 in sump. What are your thought? Is it worth it? Would it look wonky with a larger stand?

I did the same 6" thing so that I could fit a 40b sump and 10g ato in my stand and I think it looks fine!

It's also nice having the little 3" shelves on the ends where I can sit things while I'm working on the tank

I've seen several stands that are either about 6-12" oversized on each dimension, or simply have a 6" or so lip around the top. Both can be very handsome. I especially like the "oversize" look.
