In the last chamber before the return pump chamber, does the water fall over the baffle or flow under? I don't know that i'd put sand or gravel right before the return chamber depended on how the water enters the last chamber :)

The inlet plumbing goes straight into filter floss? Not sure if I'm reading it correctly. As long as water can bypass exhausted floss you'll be fine. Other then that, sump design looks amazing!

The drawing shows the 1" pvc going well into the sump intake, that's a mistake on my part, it should be at minimum even with the top of glass????. the water flows under the last chamber into the return chamber. Instead of using sand and gravel, what would be a good substitute???

Also don't forget to take into account the baffle thickness. 4 baffles you'll lose about an inch of space.

The last section before the return I would just lose it and make a bigger fuge.
