So cycle is finishing up and I’m I just started turning on the lights so that way algae can start growing. It’s been a little over a week since the lights came on and I’m just wondering when should I expect algae so I can start adding CUC and then eventually fish.

Also where should I expect the algae to form? Also I saw something about seeding algae into the tank do I need to do that?

Are you adding anything to the tank like ghost feeding or have you added any fish yet?

I assume by the cycle being finished you're saying no ammonia, no nitrites, it's all been converted to nitrates., correct?

Your tank will eventually hit its “ugly stage” where the algae really kicks in but a matter of when really can depend tank to tank due to parameters, when I first set up mine it took 4 months for a large bloom of hair algae

No fish, my ammonia and nitrite both bottomed out, so I turned on my lights and I was waiting for algae to start growing so I could add in some CUC. I’m still dosing ammonia

Ok good. As long as you're still feeding the bacteria.
