I have never before used dry rock in any of my systems. But do to running into so many pest in the past I figured I would try the dry this time. My system is 90gal with a 15gal sump. I have had the Marco rock in the system for the past 3 1/2 weeks. I started by adding almost a full bottle of Microbactor during the first week. After that I switched to Special Blend and Niteout II, and hung a few pieces of raw shrimp to get things started. My questions is, is it to early to start moving my corals into the new system after a 20% water change to lower the nitrates. My parameters are as follows:

Ammonia 0
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 5
Phosphates .03
Ph 8.1
Calcium 480
Alk 9.0 Dkh

Still a bit early, but not too bad. The added bacteria may have given you a jump start. I'd bring the pH up, then add a few cheaper ones and see how they do.

Or use a damsel, a lot of people oppose this (check the begginers forum, people hate me now) you can see warning signs earlier than with coral and pull the fish out for a few days. With a coral it could be to late.

No one hates you we just think your giving poor advice fwiw.... There is numerous ways to cycle a tank hence "my thread your talking about" use a shrimp or micro bacter7, live
Rock etc.... All simple things you can do to cycle a tank and not jeopardize the life of any living animal or creature;).... That's all we don't hate you bro....1smile1
