I setup a small tank last night and I used half the water and a piece of live rock from my tank that is already cycled. My question is will this tank need to go through a cycle as well before adding anything? I would assume it's ready to go but I thought I'd ask. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Good to go slowly. I do this quite often with my traveling tank and also do 100% water changes regularly. Easier for cleaning with a small tank. Looks great. What are you going to keep? In a 5 gallon, you could keep a few Masked gobies (or similar dwarf species), some sexy shrimp, rock nems, mushrooms, acans, so many options. Good luck!

Just add livestock slowly.

I have the same tank, Its definitely one of my favorite tanks Ive had in years.

I ended up cutting out the back filter wall and running an AC70 fuge on mine
along with a Kessil A80. 80% water changes every week or two.
