Cyphastrea Bleaching?

It's been a while since i've seen a dying cyphastrea, but is that a normal look for dying tissue? Almost looks like flatworms or something, what do the others think?

I did dip the coral for 5 minutes in coral rx pro after acclimating it and I checked it thoroughly! There didn’t seem to be anything on it, I think that’s just form where the flesh is coming off but I will check it again!

Tank is 2 months old, been using RODI water, and an API test kit! I think the Kenya droop is from lack of flow, I’ve been trying to find a place that has a bit more flow for it! As for the cyphastrea, I’m using the Fluval 13.5 stock lights.

If youre continuing with coral, Consider an Ai Prime or Hydra 26
API test kits known for false reading hence the cheap cost. Your levels are probably false. Id take a water sample to a trusted LFS that does NOT use an API test kit and have your water parameters evaluated

I’m saving up for an AI prime, that’s on my list of future upgrades for sure! I’ve heard that API can do that too, I’ll maybe look at buying a better test kit since everywhere is closed cause of quarantine and covid now. Any recommendations?

The cyphastrea is still not doing well! It’s losing its flesh and turning to skeleton a little more each day but this morning I woke up and found a few tiny bugs crawling over the skeleton part of it! I checked the other corals in the tank and they don’t seem to be on any of them, only the cyphastrea! I tried to get a picture, it’s a bit blurry, but can anyone advise what these are and if the coral should be removed? They kind of look like copepods and not really like red bugs but any advice is appreciated!

Pods might just be eating some dead flesh but I can see what they are, but i don't see any living polyps left... could be a goner now...but maybe there's a polyp or two on the backside...

Yours is not bleaching. It would take a really bright pink first and then start going white. That's an indicator of toomuch light

Yours is not bleaching. It would take a really bright pink first and then start going white. That's an indicator of toomuch light

I know, I didn’t choose this coral and I’m sad to see it go. It was given to me by a friend! The only corals I had before are a gsp and pulsing Xenia which I know are hardy and are doing perfectly fine!

Its okay buddy, I put a stony coral in my tank too young and it slowly decayed too. Wait until about month 6 or more and they will start to survive better.
