i have a 180 mixed reef with about 11 fish and a good amount of LPS and SPS.

My bizarro cyphastrea starting losing about 1 poly every few days starting a couple weeks ago. I’ve got a meteor shower that’s about taking over the tank and many other thriving corals.

Do I need to pull the bizarro out and deep it or something?

Any ideas what may be causing this or anything I can do?

Is it just polyps or any other tissue damage? If just the polyps sounds like a fish to me.

It’s tissue too. Complete white spots where 4-5 polyps were.

Was hoping it was just a couple polys and it would stop, but it looks like it’s progressin. I’ll see if I can take a pic

2 thoughts double check your alk, ca, sg, and mg.

If nothing here perhaps an iodine dip will help if it’s bacterial.

Also will give a chance to see if in the dip container any nasties drop off.

Ok, thanks for the feedback Gareth. I’m thinking a deep is in order. I check the perametors weekly and everything else in my tank is doing fine.

Dont discount the dip :).

Also I believe @Rakie uses melafix safely, i can attest to its antiseptic use for fish, not on corals.

Fish list? Had a reef safe coral beauty that would only eat one type of cyphastrea polyp

I do have a potter angel. Rest are tangs, clowns, firefish, chromis.

I didn’t a iodine dip tonight. We’ll see how it goes.
