Who would win when growing next to each other, away from the Goniastrea's tentacles?

And while we are on the topic, is there something that could withstand being in the warpath of the Goniastrea's tentacles?

Cyphastrea spreads quickly and encrusts.

Yeah i know, i have 5 of them. My question is more specifically what happens when the growth edge of a Cyphastrea touches the edge of a Goniastrea, from the direction of flow, so the Goniastrea's tentacles can't attack. If the Cyphastrea dies back, i can put them next to each other, if the Goniastrea does, i can't.

And the second question is what, if anything, i can put into the path of the Goniastrea's tentacles that will survive there, Millepora sp. maybe?

Gotchya
I don’t foresee chemical warfare but I have a plan in the event they clash but again you can get grafting of the two which would be amazing

Grafting between different Genera ? I have never heard of that, that would be amazing indeed, do you know of any examples of that happening?
