Damsel question

For a bit of variety what do you think if I put in a pair of Yellowtails, an Azure and a Blue Devil? Or is it safer to maybe do a pair of Azures and a pair of Yellowtails? Thanks.

I'd be nervous putting a damsel in with firefish unless it was a pretty large tank (firefish seem to get picked on by even semi-aggressive fish). If you must have a blue damsel, I'd look for an orange tail (least aggressive in my experience).

I would be afraid to mix species myself, especially species that look similar. I have only done all the same specie and found the yellow tail to be the most docile.

I have had yellow tail damsels in with firefish before and it has never been a problem. I have always put the firefish in first so that the tank is his territory prior to adding damsels however.

I’m headed to the LFS today, if they have a healthy specimen of both would an azure be better choice over yellow tail or are are the personalities a wash?

Unfortunately the LFS had Village Belle Damsel’s tatty at look just like Azure. I passed for now and will keep looking. I’ll be danged if they weren’t Azure though, spitting image.
