Damsel Question

I currently have a jewel damsel in a 20 gallon innovative marine aquarium. i’ve been wanting to move him into my new 90 gallon, but I’ve been waiting so i could add him last. would it be OK if I added him into my 90 gallon now? In my 90 gallon I currently have three blue/green Cromis, Fox face, One clown fish, and a sailfin tang. (I know a 90 gallon is too small for a sailfin, but he is only 3 inches.

Can't see why not. Each fish has its own personality and will; respond differently to a new environment and tankmates. Could set an otherwise peaceful(hahaha) damsel off and make it a terror, could do nothing... You never know till you try.

90 gallons is not too smal for a sail fin. Tang police will be all over you but users on here have kept hippos in 30 gallons before.

Anyway if you add him before anything else it may stake a territory and be a turd. But in a tank that big you should be ok

I know, I received him from a family member who stated a 40g and gave up and they didn’t know. when he gets to be around 7” i will probably have a bigger tank for him.

7 inches for a sail fin may only be a year away. Mine has grown faster than any fish I’ve ever had.

Not a particular fan of the jewel. Attractive when young; ugly when older .... and aggressive. There are much better choices from the chrysiptera genus.

I agree with ca1ore above, jewels aren't the best community damsels so I'd personally consider rehoming it whilst you can do easily, you will have a far more harmonious tank for it.
