What are some good starter fish for my new 75 gal setup? I currently have damsels but was told to get rid of them, I'm hoping for some naso tangs and some of the more vibrant angel fish, also can I put triggerfish in with either of those with that size tank or does it matter? I'd like a pretty thick and colorful starfish as well are there any stipulations to having any of these together... what about live coral in the same tank or are there certain fish that can only be with the coral? I am doing my research also. if depending on the types of fish verses the live coral what would I need to do in order to get the tank prepared for the coral or is that later on down the line after the establishment of fish survival.

I'd look into smaller species than what you're looking for. Naso, Triggers, Large Angels get too large for a 75. Clownfish, Gobies, Blennies, Chromis, Basslets Dwarf Angels etc. would be better choices. Find an online vendor like Liveaquaria.com and check the minimum tank sizes and reef compatibility for the fish you're looking into.

Angel Fish will nip at sps corals and depending on the star fish they are know to eat corals, esp the chocalate chip stars.Triggers get good sized and can become pretty aggressive and love to eat inverts. As for tangs I wouldnt add more than one to a 75 and it would have to be one that stays pretty small or it will quickly out grow that size tank. I would def. get rid of the damsels as they are mean little boogers, I have a blue one that if i could catch i would feed to the cat. How old is the tank? Green Chromis are good starter fish and look good in schools. You could also do a pair of clowns they are hardy and add some great color.

Like mentioned above all those fish will get way to large for your tank. Next if your wanting coral you will want reef safe fish. Now not all fish will get along with one another, 2 blennies don't do well in a tank of that size or even in a 120 for that matter. Gobies you can get in different variances, some get large 3-5" while others stay small under 2". I have a pink spot goby at 4" and a red Pygmy goby in a 40. Together and they are fine but they are not they same sub species of goby. If you go with clowns just try and find a mated pair, I would stay away from tomato, maroons and the larger clowns as they are more aggressive. There are a ton of cool smaller fish that would be great in a 75. And like already said take the damsels back they are mean fish and 8 of them in there you don't have much room to add any more fish.

Also do you have any live rock in this tank? It is a big part your natural filtration and is a must for keeping fish!!
