Im wanting to switch to a Ranco Controller for my heater and Am a little confused about how to go about it. Looking online, most people are using them to turn on a cooling device (supply power) if the temperature gets too hot. In this hobby we want them to turn off the heater (Turn off power) if it gets too hot. Is there a wiring difference for aquarium use? Thank You.

I assume you mean a Ranco controller

They can be set to heat or cool mode.
