Hey All

This is my first attempt at a review of some hardware i picked up, so please be kind :-) !

Always wanted a PAR meter on-hand so i could tweak and adjust lights as i needed, generally I would always rent an Apogee unit from my LFS, but this isnt always super convenient.

Fast forward to the end of 2024, i saw this on Ali Express, and for under $200 AUD i jumped and ordered one. (Link Below)

I had only just recently checked my PAR with a Apogee unit, and this measured pretty much exactly the same, the instructions are all in clear english, nothing weird at all, and the pole and senser all feels solid.
The only thing it didnt have was the AAA battery's, but that is a non issue for me as i always have tonnes around the place (Kids toys LOL).

Pics of unboxing and use - fire away with any questions.
I have actually surprised myself with how much i have used this over the last week.

It would be interesting to see it compared along side of the Apogee

Yes, i can only compare to my last readings about 6 months ago when I last hired the Apogee from my LFS.

Maybe if I get the time I will hire it again and do a side by side...

Awesome! I have this in my shopping cart on Amazon and it’s only $140usd. Wasn’t sure on quality but I’m convinced. Just bought it mid writing this post.

I received one today. I don't have an apogee to compare, but it reads exactly the same as the Photone app.

I’m on the fence about picking one up. Some are reporting readings that are 10% low compared to an Apogee 510? Do you feel the same? When you rented the Apogee which version did you end up renting?

An MQ-510, but i have not done a side by side comparison, only comparing to my record of ratings that i had on a picture.

How far off is it?
I read a comment in the youtube video saying that you have to do some math and the danoplus should read give or take 10. Hope this helps. Im looking into buying one too!
