I actually wonder if anyone here has compared/had experience with the Aquarium Engineering Ca reactor and the DaStaCo. Trying to decide between the two.

I debated between the Deltec and the Aquarium engineering carx but I'll be honest, I picked deltec cuz it matched the color of my stand =) I'm very happy with this unit so I doubt I will need to try the aquarium engineering carx.

I have owned the aquarium engineering products ( no longer a fan ) Sent back a $1500.00 controller multiple time still never fixed , gave away for free a large calcium reactor , also a large skimmer . I no longer own any of there products .
Running a DaStaCo now for 3 months the A4 large unit . Never touched it since setting up .

Hi guys,

Did not find any better post - so maybe DaStaco users can help. I am about to set up mine but the media is full of yellow / black media... I have the original Dastaco media. It looks like this:

Bit worried to install this as it supposed to be pure calcium carbonate - what is white, not yellow and def. not black.

I have used quite a few 5 gallon pails over time . There are different colored media in the pails . Never had any issue in tank from this. Confirmed with triton and ati water tests . Hope this helps .

Thanks Greg!
Would you mind to confirm you had these brownish / black bits as well?
