So I rearranged my front half of tank today. Got rid of some anthelia coral as it was spreading off the rock I scrapped it off out of tank. Rinsed off and rubbed some kalk paste on it and put back in tank. Done this lots of times. Forgot container on counter. Got busy came back to tank and daughter took off running. She's 3. Said she was feeding fish. I found dry powder on rim of tank and she showed me what she was feeding fish. She was taking a pinch at a time and throwing it in. She didn't use a lot but now all 6 of my torch corals in that area are closed like night time or early morning. My todds and one blue tip has brown spots that are see thru on tips and and a few rips are brown and completely see thru.

Tank alk went from 13 to 15 so I dosed muratic acid to lower it slowly. Anything I can do. Will this kill them or should they recover. All other corals in tank are fully open and looking good

What measurement are you talking about with 13 and 15? 13 dKh seems high to begin with. I'd be more worried about the pH from the Kalk and then from the Muriatic Acid.
It's always been at 13 dkh. I don't dose for alk. Don't water change. It's always the same except one time I put in a new brand of calcium and somehow alk jumped up. Muriatic acid brought it down that was 6 months ago or so.

Do you use tap water or rodi for mixing water?

Don't water change. Used rodi for top offs but I quit about a year ago and use tap. Things were always same. Well water not city. I never tested my waters property but rodi never lowered dkh either. I figured the used live rock I had was leaching out alk because it wasn't prepped fully maybe

Could be. I use tap as well and mine pushes 13 dKh in the winter which is why I asked.

If you can, I'd consider adding an air stone to help stabilize the pH.

They may have closed to protect themselves from Kalk particles.
You made the correction to your water chemistry, so give them a bit.
Moving them always always makes them unhappy short term.

Yeah then kalk dumped on them. I blew particles out with a bulb pipette. The duncan was loosing pieces of it when I was flushing it. He just split from 1 head to 8 little ones...

I’m thinking short term problem. Let’s see them at 24hrs after, the last pic doesn’t look that bad to me. IMG_1686.jpeg

These posts pop up occasionally…..and I’m always surprised about the lack of ahhhh! Kalk (or whatever other chemical) and kids! If the comment was about kids playing with draino or cordless saws.

Muriatic (Hydrochloric) is part of my emergency Kalk kit too :)
I think you’ll be ok generally, just wait to see if the corals are badly burned by the Kalk lumps, could be ok.

I can only imagine a three year old playing with muriatic acid….

Yeah I don't think she would eat it. Would be very spicy. I forgot. Single father of 3. Emergencies pop up when your doing things
