So I've been blown away by pricing since I've been here on R2R. I'm just curious who has a club DBTC? Don't break the chain. Basically it is a frag someone donates into the circle, the recipients grow out two frags and pass two more frags. Did I mention this is free? The idea originated with BAR, bay area reefers. I really don't think it will work in a national site like this one, but the local sites can greatly benefit. For example, I got a garf bonsai frag from the program. I grew it out and have two frags away. You can make it a trivia game, require the recipient to donate into the DBTC, first two to post, or whatever. There are categories from beginner (green palys) to extreme (JF crazy fox).
What happens to the colony you grew? You keep it! Yours to sell, trade, put in calcium reactor, give away...whatever your heart desires
Just think we the hobbyists are responsible for the ludicrous prices that are set. I understand some coral is worth more and the unwillingness to give away your precious $1000/eye frag. But you can also receive coral otherwise unattainable.
My club had 300+ DBTC frags at our last exchange.
Am I being unreasonable here?
