Looks like diatoms have found the dead coral. Most of the hammer frags looked good enough to place back on rocks. Two heads still look funny.

Nutrients are high probably because 18 well fed fish. A few weeks ago I started vinegar dosing. Started slow 4ml a day now I’m at 10ml a day. This morning I didn’t dose any vinegar. Phosphate is 0.46. Just recalibrated salinity still 1.026
Everything was looking ok before vinegar and most everything is looking pretty good today. So you started dosing vinegar a couple weeks ago, recently doubled the dose, and now are seeing significant die off?
How did your corals look before you started dosing?
Yeah soft corals are good. Fish are all happy. Macros are looking good. I don’t know what happened? Maybe I have some bug? I dipped a few corals and didn’t see any flat worms.Jon wow just saw
I noticed on page one the Xenia looked healthy, pulsing etc was this only an affliction on the lps and sps but not softs
So I haven’t changed any water since the last rip clean except for a little for dipping and fraging. Maybe I have some contamination and should do a large water change?I have no idea my gosh, when that ever happens to mine I’ll be posting here for ideas
I thought you did great taking best remedial actions you could, that risk vs ability to navigate it is what sets the hobby apart from the rest $. Nice teamwork clue hunting I enjoyed seeing options mentioned here
Hi i am very new to reefing. May i ask, why do you dose vinegar if the tank is looking ok? Is there a formula when to dose vinegar? Sry i cant help on your problem but just curious about dosing vinegar as some reefer from my local reef club told me to dose vinegar too.Everything was looking ok before vinegar and most everything is looking pretty good today.

Thanks for the explanation. It's a form of dosing a carbon source. The goal is to lower nitrate and phosphate. Vinegar and vodka are the most common liquids some reefers use for carbon dosing.
Hay you might be on to something here. My lights are messed up I can’t adjust the slave at all and it’s stuck on preset. I’ll put my window screen on the tank for a few days.Heres a thought.. you only just started with GAC and vinegar... maybe the GAC has cleared the water from the yellowish tint and maybe.. just maybe it could be light shock?
Im sure i remember that par can go up by 30% if you dont normally use GAC because of how clear it makes the water. Let me know how you get on. I just use GAC 24/7.Hay you might be on to something here. My lights are messed up I can’t adjust the slave at all and it’s stuck on preset. I’ll put my window screen on the tank for a few days.
