I’ve had this Fireork Clove frag for a little over a month now. It’s been doing great. Has had amazing growth and typically opens up very nice unless agitated

I noticed yesterday that one of the polyps not only didn’t open up, but had a nasty shriveled look to it. I woke up this morning and it’s now bone white. I assume it’s dead.

Any advice on what is going on, how critical is it, and what should my course of action be going forward. I’ll be keeping a close eye on it for sure.

pics aren’t the best

Not critical But assure none of the others are melting or stressed.

Moderate light and water flow and planktoni foods suspended for feeding and some iron abd pottasium in their water

I should have posted parameters. My bad. I test every Sunday, and my numbers have been pretty consistent with what I had last Sunday. the only thing that has been changing is my nitrates have been slowly dropping the last 3 weeks. I've considered dosing nitrates, but I don't want to 'chase numbers' and really this is the first signs I've seen of any unhappy coral.

Salinity-36
nitrate->1ppm at this point
Ph-8.2
phosphate-.05
Alk-8.8
Calcium-415
Mag-1400
temp-78

Looking closely today, there is a small polyp beside the dead one that also has a shriveled look to it much like the dead one did yesterday.

Am I possibly dealing with a type of infection? The rest of the frag looks fine.
